Borax Guard – The ultimate protection for your gas stove!

Together with blacksmith Emiel Besseling, we have proudly created "BoraxGuard". This simple but significant tray is designed to effectively protect the inside of your gas stove, especially the floor and stones, from the harmful effects of borax. The long sides are angled to make it easier to pour out the borax when it is hot and liquid.

When borax is heated, it can cause significant damage to the stones at the bottom of your forge. With BoraxGuard you get reliable protection that extends the life of your equipment and ensures that forging remains safe and efficient. Perfect for blacksmiths who forge gaiters and forges frequently.

Material

Made in Stainless steel, in a quality that can withstand extreme heat for a long time and has very good properties against wear. The corners are TIG welded.

Gransfors Bruk AB ; Get to know Product & Production Developer Emiel Besseling! Enjoy his own words about working at Gränsfors Bruk:

"When I started working at Gränsfors for 5 years ago, I learned to forge the small forest ax and understand the unique forging process we use at Gränsfors. After this training period my role changed to Production/Product Developer because of my degree in Mechanical engineering and metallurgy. Together with the blacksmiths at Gränsfors, I started to develop the forging process and continuously improve quality.

This has created spforge to finally forge new models and after Jögge Sundqvist's requests we discovered that there was a desire for smaller carving axes. Months of producing prototypes and tool designs later, we were able to start forging the small and medium carving axe.

We also had the opportunity to implement our special woodcarving grind – something that we are very proud of.

This whole process shows the beauty of Gränsfors Bruk, working together to create new handmade products for generations to come. Sadly, I don't often have the honor of stamping the products with my initials anymore. But seeing how we achieve more as a team is way more satisfying.

Product development is an ongoing process that never stops, and I'm looking forward to showing what we are working on in the future."

...By the way, what is Borax?

Borax is a mineral used in blacksmithing as a flux. It lowers the melting point of metals and helps remove oxides, which improves the quality of welds and joints. Ex. damascus and gruel
